ISIS: Past, Present and Future.

The Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS) of Vanderbilt University was established by the School of Engineering in 1998.  Since then, the long term goal of ISIS has been to foster multi-disciplinary research and academic programs fully consistent with the research and educational goals of Vanderbilt University.  

During the past decade, ISIS has grown to become a nationally and internationally recognized research center including over 100 researchers and students. Research results created by ISIS staff have had and continue to make a major impact on establishing a new science and technology for integrating information and physical sciences. 

Collaborating across schools at Vanderbilt, ISIS researchers and students work together on joint projects with leading academic and industrial research institutions across the US and worldwide. Our researchers are recognized national leaders in their field and ISIS students work at universities and industry across the globe. As we approach our 10th anniversary, this symposium gives us the opportunity to review the results of the past decade as well as to look ahead and think about the future of systems, computer science and engineering.
