EECS Ph.D. student Chetan S Kulkarni won the best student paper award at IEEE AUTOTESTCON 2010. He was also the recipient of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society travel grant award.  The conference, hosted by the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE), was held in Orlando, Florida from September 13-16, 2010.

 

AUTOTESTCON is the largest conference focused on support systems for military and aerospace systems, and is sponsored annually by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), held annually since 1965. Administered by a standing Board of Directors, the Conference typically presents over 120- quality application-focused papers with over 250 Exhibits, all focused on the current issues facing military automated testing.

 

Chetan’s paper titled “'Integrated Diagnostic/Prognostic Experimental Setup for Capacitor Degradation and Health Monitoring” won the award co-authored with his advisor, EECS Professor Gautam Biswas, along with Dr. Xenofon Koutsoukos from the EECS Department, and Dr. Kai Goebel and Dr. Jose Celaya  from the Prognostics Centre of Excellence , NASA Ames Research Centre, CA
