ISIS Staff Engineer, Himanshu Neema, et. al. won the best paper award for their paper "SOAMANET: A Tool for Evaluating Service-Oriented Architectures on Mobile Ad-hoc Networks" at the 14th IEEE/ACM Symposium on Distributed Simulation and Real Time Applications, held in Fairfax, Virginia from October 17-20, 2010.
DS-RT 2010 serves as a forum for simulationists from academia, industry and research labs, for presenting recent research results in Distributed Simulation and Real Time Applications. DS-RT 2010 targeted the growing overlap between large distributed simulations and real time applications, such as collaborative virtual environments pervasive and ubiquitous application scenarios, motor-, controller-, sensor- and actuator systems. The conference featured prominent invited speakers as well as papers by top researchers in the field. DS-RT 2010 included contributed technical papers, invited papers, and panel discussions.
The research paper was authored by Himanshu Neema, Anand Kashyap, Robert Kereskenyi, Yuan Xue, and Gabor Karsai. It presented the basic research conducted under the project "Model-Based Software Technologies Targeting Interoperability for Systems of Systems" with Dr. Gabor Karsai as the Principle Investigator. The research was sponsored by U.S. Army Research Laboratory and was accomplished under Cooperative Agreement W911NF-07-2-0020.
