Recently ISIS teamed up with the Clinton Climate Initiative and submitted an idea of a mobile green house gas and air pollution monitoring system to the Vodafone Foundation Wireless Innovation Program. The proposal made it to the final, where Ákos Lédeczi presented it to a panel of judges. Unfortunately, it was not picked up as one of the three winners.
One of our own has recently been featured in several publications for research and contributions to the engineering field. The Countersniper project, headed by Senior Research Scientist Ákos Lédeczi, creates technology that allows a soldier’s helmet to accurately pinpoint shooter location. Professor Stephen B. Wicker from Cornell University will visit Vanderbilt on March 19th, 2009. He will give a lecture on Privacy and Privacy-Aware Design in Telecommunications Networks. The Lecture will be held in Jacobs Believed in Me Auditorium, Featheringill Hall at 3pm.
